Double garage before conversion — Our customer was really struggling to get her car through her single garage door opening.

Double garage after conversion — We removed the pillar and fitted a new lintel. She now has a double remote controlled Hormann Sectional insulated door and crushed wing mirrors are a thing of the past. (We also seem to have made the sky blue)

Cedar garage doors — These are cedar sectional garage doors fitted to an oak framed garage.

Garage door and access door — Sometimes it’s good to nip in and out of the garage without revealing whatever’s in there. Keep the neighbours guessing with this sectional door with side door to match. The frame has been clad in white uPVC to match the windows. This one is in anthracite, still the colour of the moment.

Before and after two garage doors converted to one — Planners like to see two doors so developers put seven feet wide doors on many new houses which is too narrow to drive through. Here we have nipped out the central pillar and with a new steel lintel and a lovely 16ft door he can even go in sideways if he wants.

Double garage door — This was a new build on a housing estate. Like many new builds, it had two narrow up and doors that our client could not get his car through. We knocked out the central pillar, put in a heavy duty lintel and a double Hormann sectional. With an insulated door our customer insulated the rest of the garage to make the perfect workshop.

Side hung garage doors — A real test here. Architects had only left 7 feet widths on these openings. These made to measure side hung doors are hinged in a way so that they are totally clear of the openings when open, leaving the full masonry width to drive through. They are also remote controlled, which actually work very well on side hung doors.

Red garage door — Red seems to go well with Rosewood soffits and fascias. Nice work on the drive here which we can’t take credit for.

View of house and garage door — This looks like a Photoshop job but it isn’t. If you look very carefully going up the A515 from Ashbourne near Tissington you will see it on the left. You will also have become that rarest of enthusiasts, a garage door spotter!
